P38 Cold Idle Issue

should I of done it cold? Or disconnected battery?

Temperature should make no difference and as long as the ignition was off there should be n problem, there are different versions of the Power Box for different years.

aware there’s ones for different years. But a 1996 and 1997 in theory should be the same?

That I do not know, there have been many specification changes over the years

Had one of those, nothing but trouble.
Got one of these, which transform the delivery. Smooth delivery and no surge when it kicks in.

It’s a non descript black box.
I only got it off a friend of a friend because it worked on his which has same engine and management.

plugged it it fires up but causes the worlds biggest loping idle

I think There were a couple of different ones depending on year.

The later plastic manifold engines have a maf which the alloy manifold don't have.

forgive me for being stupid. But what does the vac line from the ally intake manifold go to? Attached to fuel filter housing

I can’t imagine I’ve already got an ECU chip as it does feel slow and about the right power

There is no MAP vac line it is a pressure line.
