I installed a radio into the 90, no problems but since doing so the front wipers don't work. They were fine before, smooth and reliable.

Fuse is ok, and there is power to the wiper switch.

I attempted to remove the top trim rail to tuck the radio pod lip under it as advised but it was a problem to get off so used self tappers to secure the pod to the dash.

Could I have pulled a wire loose somewhere? I'm thinking the n/s dash where the wiper box sits, I wonder if the earth wire has been pulled off?

Asking before I take it to bits again.

Also, amongst the wires under the dash feeding the rear wiper, clock and cigar lighter I found a perm. live female connector with I think green and red wire (must check). Any idea where this goes? There is a spare male tag on the back of the cigar lighter but when I tried to connect them it sparked and crackled, so thought better of it!

Any suggestions most appreciated.

It was the earth wire on the wiper motor  The spade connector to bulkhead was very loose so I nipped it up and it's now secure.

The floating green-red wire in the dash was actually a blue from the fuse box and I think is one of a set of 3 for the nonworking cigar lighter, other 2 are red-white live from the side light feed and a black earth. The manual says purple for the cigar lighter but this was turquoise/blue? o_O

Quite a faff taking off and putting back the instrument binnacle and top rail and trim to get at the wiper box. One hour to fit stereo, four hours sorting out why the wipers won't work after fitting radio!
