That was the achilles heel of the old Defender
The new ones have over complex electronics. If they dumbed the systems down a bit it might inspire confidence that at some point in the next 10 years it isn't going to spend months at the dealership chasing a weird 'fault'
The only problem with the chassis IMO is that it was not galvanised.
JLR have a poor reputation when it comes to electronics, it will be a surprise if the new Pretender is any more reliable than other JLR products. The fact that it can report faults direct to JLR will not be of much help if it packs up in the middle of the Gobi desert, what are they going to do, helicopter an engineer out to you:rolleyes:

Strangely, aside South Africa, yet to see JLR introduce the new "pretender" as some have called it to dealers on the African continent.

For sure we're not going to be seeing the new one in service with the UN, with logging, mining and construction companies like its predecessor.

Not even in the UK Coast Guard. Greetings to Ghana.

Just watched the videos and I like it I think but it is not a Landy it is more like a Discovery
Nothing wrong with the Discovery but we already have one, its called a Discovery.
What we need is a Landy

I can't get past the fact it just makes me think of a Mini each time I see a picture of one
