Nope not going to do that. Rub it down is problematic, clear coat as well as dirt will settle and so on. Not for me this job, on my black fl if I spot a big scratch I go do scrap and find that element on colour (java black) and seems easier.
If the engine is failed I would still consider. If paint is, no, as repairing this engine seems easier.

Genuine G4Any pictures Ash? I thought most G4s were orange? Either way a cool car, especially if a genuine G4...

2003 g4 , LR made 200 orange, 200 yellow .orange won the day and carried on that colour, hense , no more yellows .
Went on and saw the car. If any of you guys want to have it, couple of notes.
For me unfortunately is just bad timing I have to move end of month and don't have the time to sort all this and I cannot leave it as it is because I have issues.
- lacquer does peel off this colour, but is not bad at all only a few small points
- engine is sound, head gasket changed at 24k miles and no signs of issues, idles well etc.
- leaking oil on I suspect the usual crankshaft seal, not expensive but timewise I don't know as ird gearbox and flywheel needs removal for this (I doubt there is any k series fl without this around tbh)
- horn improvised with a button somewhere on the steering wheel column
- bonnet won't open easily, the latch seem kaputt
- bit of rust underneath, it was not never undercoated
- needs tlc

How do you know if its a G4, is it simply because its yellow? I have a yellow 2003 1.8 3 door with g4 stickers that I brought because I wanted the 17" wheels for my td4. Need to sell it now as cylinder 2 has low pressure so running rough.
Landrover only made 200 yellow and 200 orange o3 freelander s to celebrate the g4 challenge

thinking of getting a replacement engine, but as i dont have a garage to work in i will probably just sell it for spares or repairfix it!
