Just a thought, He may have swapped some good parts from your landy on to another and put the dodgy parts on your car, be very careful, After giving it some thought I would tell him deal is done, he was happy with the service record and history file and he was happy to part with his cash at time of sale.

A "Service Book" is just a place where dealers stamp their mark and record the mileage for the key and major service schedules.
The same info is also on the bills/receipts for these services. So all that the "Service Book is, is a shorthand record of the overall work done.
IF the service history has all the bills, receipts for the vehicle and the work done on it and the vehicle reg. No., tell the buyer to Foxtrot-Oscar, he has all the proofs he needs, he is just being a pedantic ar$ehole.

It’s a private sale so the Sale of Goods Act does not apply. Just because it doesn’t have a service book doesn’t necessarily mean that there is no service history. The history could be in the form of receipts from garages, mechanics, etc which would show when it was serviced, what was done, the date and mileage just as a stamped service book would do.

The most the buyer could do is try to claim he was the victim of a fraud or try a civil claim through the small claims court. But buyer beware comes to mind.
