Time to visually inspect and electrically check some wires then fella, this might help but a wiring diagram would be much better, should be one on tinternet for your vehicle, you will defo need a diagram, just go methodically , you know whats broke, you just need to find out where.

Edit, always a good idea to extend the meters wires when checking for continuity , especially when a wire starts in the dash and ends in the engine bay.
Thanks pal. To extend the multimeter cables can I just cut and splice more wire in?

Start with checking the basics / bigger high current carrying cables and earth straps. Then focus on individual circuits. You will need a wiring diagram and multi meter. You will find the fault with methodical process of elimination. Don't (as some people do) randomly rip you car to bits, hoping the fault will jump out at you

Right so constant live (brown) had melted and had touched the large and small red/brown cables all at the back of the ignition switch. No fuses in the fuse box blown, where abouts is the 60a fuse on the 200tdi 110? I think this must have blown cause after separating still wouldn't start. Taken out the scorched melted section of cable, planning on replacing and putting back together. I did find a brown and red cable that had been taped up in the engine bay. The tape had come loose and it is possible the exposed end touched the block. Would this have caused this?
