LOL, yes, the videos on page 1 are some from the route we took. They were 'the worst', tight and more technical, the rest were just interesting with great views and scenery ... Just a nice drive with enough to keep you thinking about it .. :)

thks , does look really nice

fingers crossed if u do set up another trip around spring time i hope if i may join u plse

am around 200 x miles away so would be ideal to spend 3-4 days camping :D, ideally then keeping the costs to a min

a mystery tour then , lol

well i just watched those 8 x videos and would be fine going down those lanes, as its not like ur forcing ur way through bushes , etc

scenery looks stunning

see the last 2 x videos looked like they could be very challenging when wet ,

also saw another video within the collection

now that would be an out for me, lol

That final vid is a fantastic Lane.
Before anyone asks - it is a legal byway. We were on the byway. To the left is the footpath that others have used, off piste.

if i'm honest it didn't even cross my mind concerning the byways as i know when events are organised legality access of lanes are verified :D:D

makes a trip out even nicer with such nice surroundings

couldn't believe how far that landy leaned over without tipping, looked a challanging route

Well... tucked up in our caravan in whitley bay now, it hammered down last night so we went over to the pub with the kids and played cards in front of the log fire over a few drinks. Fortunately, it dried up for packing up and leaving. @Magicgrotto we did go shopping and fed the kids (and us) then decided to explore the area, so went on a 'magical mystery tour'. We drove around and saw some pretty countryside with the help of google maps. We followed the map to a body of water shown as quite big but turned out to be a pond in a field! Anyway, the route back took us down an unmade road which then turned out to be a lane which matched the most challenging ones we did on saturday! It was obviously well used but i was very aware that we were on our own, so i was constantly taking note of escape routes if it looked too dodgy. o_O to be honest, it got pretty "technical" so i just had to be careful and go for it. No sweat. Well... maybe a bit...
Anyway, big thanks to everyone who was there for making it a great weekend, especially @Paul D for organising it, @HiDeeHi and @johnnew for leading us almost... perfectly... @neilly for giving my disco the 'once over' with his nanocom, i could go on but i feel like i'm doing a bafta speech! Great weekend, great people. Look forward to the next one! :)

is this what ur trying to say

We shall defend our byways , whatever the cost may be; we shall drive on the beaches, we shall drive on the landing grounds, we shall drive in the fields and in the streets, we shall drive in the hills; we shall never surrender...our freedom of the byways ;)

After some investigation with the help of @Magicgrotto it looks like the circular plate that the flex plate bolts to on the gearbox is cracked. I'm going to have to drive it home on a wing and a prayer....

So is this another Bakewell Bash victim??

Count so far:

90 Broken before kick off. @Paul D
90 Fender broken rear spring mount, during the bash. @manchestershire chester
90 Brake servo kaput on the way home......stand on them brakes.......only me.........;).
D2 broken circular thingy.......................Can we blame it on the bash?? @Bobdog , get home safe :).

@gstuart , still want to come and play????:D

Anyway, still all good fun , looking forward to the next one.

Cheers

my god i don't stand a chance , lol

if there is a meet around march time onwards i would be interested plse, as it will then be warm enough for camping and keeping the cost down , also having the dogs with me

will give me the chance to sort out my health issues, am seeing the gastro surgeon on the 22nd of this month , so will see what happens there , also i took a loan out for my brother as he got him self in dyer straights , so i'm having to pay the loan back and is crusifrying me abit

wished to be honest with u guys

i'm so looking forward to the day i can finally join guys , am so so sorry i can't do it yet seeing the circumstances have changed

but working hard in order i can make it happen with finances plus as it's 200 miles each way would be good to stay 4-5 days , make the most of it and also enjoy the countryside

thks for listening as always

:eek::D:p:D:p:D:p I take it you're not familiar with Derbyshire? Whilst March can be quite pleasant it is not unusual for temperatures to be well below freezing at night with 6'+ drifts blocking the roads. It's a very rare year when there isn't still snow hanging under the walls on the higher ground well into March, then the snow has only cleared because of the constant rain! :D:D

The used to be so true Ian. Not a lot of snow about here last few years though. Hope you've ordered some for next winter Please....
We've had a few good falls the last two years but only above 1200' feet or so and they've cleared quickly due to rain moving in, managed a few nights out playing in foot deep snow that was virtually gone by morning. There were a few spots under North facing walls where the snow was still hanging on into April this year on the very tops but you're right, nothing like a few years ago.
Fingers crossed for a good harsh winter this year :)

Looks like a good trip :D I remember the first Bakewell, it was my first laning weekend. Had the privilege of Paul D leading my group, been hooked on laning weekends ever since.

I've seen that video a lot, and the **** storm it caused. Never dared ask where it is LOL. Any chance of a PM @DavidSally

pm me (start a conversation) an email address and I'll send the gps file for the route ...

Osmotherley ... We drove on the track, legally, not on the footpath which most people seemed to think we should have done .. :)
