Disco 1 Discovery Commercial new roof

Just had a look today at a Disco 300Tdi commercial.

It needs a lot of work but I quite like it...

Is it possible to remove the roof from above the side walls and change it for a new one?

Anythings possible with them mate but it needs to be done correctly.

like anything in life! I don't have any experience with discoveries so is it as simple as with a series/defender where you can just unbolt the roof?

nope, its cut and weld

It's a lot more difficult, you need set yourself some kind of alignment jig, weld something. To make sure corners cut to same length and don't move with roof off then welded back correctly in place. And while your at it if it has sunroofs take them out and plate the holes up.

Probably easier to repair the rusted metal around the alpine roofs then?
