Hi I have started to get 3 warning lights Traction control,Anti-lock braking system,Hill descent control pop up on dash if I stop and switch off engine then re-start they disappear but sometimes its the next day or even two or three days later they come on again. The truck runs fine even when the warning lights are on is this a common problem and is it usually the same problem.I dont have any test gear but I am going to take it to my local garage that does have electronic test equipment should I be prepared for a big bill or is it going to be a minor problem I am towing my caravan this week so am hoping its not a major job forgot to say its a 2002 facelift td5 disco
Thanks

Thanks for the reply I am still trying to get to grips with the new layout I did put 3amigos into the search box before I posted my thread and only got a few results will have to keep trying
thanks again

On the short list of possible causes are the shuttle valve switch under the ABS modulator, a modification and/or replacement is the cure or it's one of the wheel sensors or the hub itself. If you have someone local with a Nanocom they should be able to pinpoint it and which wheel needs looking at if it's that.

In the absence of diagnostics, I'd do the shuttle valve modification first to see how it goes. It takes just an hour or two and the cost is just a couple of wires. If the mod is done properly it should have no effect on the normal running of the car. Do a Google search for "SVS mod" and there are a few pages about it. If it works then you're sorted, if not then you're into it probably being a hub, in which case you will need diagnostics to find out which one.

Thanks for all the advice I now have a good idea of what to expect will go to garage on monday and give him all your ideas as to what the problems could be if he cant fit me in straight away is it ok to still drive the car even if the warning lights are on,they dont seem to have any effect when driving
Thanks again

Yes, assuming you aren't going to test its off road capabilities.;) I'm not sure if you still get some form of ABS braking. You can easily check this... no caravan attached ;)

Sorry to be late replying have been fishing!!, I went to garage and they cant fit me in as one of the two mechanics is on holiday so once he is back I will get them to have a look. I have been driving every day and the 3amigos have not returned the brakes seem to be fine am hoping it was just a bit of dirt or maybe a gremlin will probably go out tomorrow and they will be back!!!
Thanks for the reply
