My mate bought a very clean seris 3 2.25 petrol last year.
However, he should not be let near a spanner!

He lives in west wickam, in kent, and is looking for a good independant landy garage to service/MOT his landy.

He came over yesterday, and I had a good look over his landy and the only thing I can find wrong with it is a leaking bottom wheel cylinder on the front.

It's his only motor, so needs someone quite near to where he lives.

Any ideas?

that's a shame about dakar i always heard good things about them , sound like they've gone down hill

I also do all my own work with the help of my son james

im just off brook road swanley

funny enough there useto be a guy who privately bought and sold landies from his bungalow on the main road going towards swanley , near the tyre place , and his back garden was like an aladian cave , lol got a series 2 a safari off him years ago

still often see landies parked outside , think it was a father and son and done it as a past time , i broke down at ruxley roundabout and they helped me, that was some years ago , lol

blimey the old memories coming back, but don't ask me what I did last week , lol

do have a guy in bexley health who useto be my old neighbour and runs a garage , does my mots etc for me

Home
biggin hill.
i do my own spannering so have not used them. but have been up to chat with these people and they seemed friendly and helpful.

there useto be a Land Rover garage in biggin hill, was a breakers also and think it was in jail lane

can't remember the name but did look at a series there once and the chassis had more welds than chassis , a real cowboy

a mate of mine bought a 88 off him , sold it with an mot , then marked the invoice sold as spares , chassis broke 3 months later

think he got closed down in the end ???

Theres a mechanic with a big 300tdi Disco up there who has done some 'questionable' work on my 90 before. Extremely close to where you described.

just looked on the map

if u just go past the squash club , then it's next door to the car rental place on the right hand side

they have scrap out the back

they useto have loads of land rovers for sale

trying to find the company name , but they were certainally a bunch of cowboys that's firnsure

my understanding is that bhm is biggin hill metals and they own the land that the other companies use/rent.
the company i had a chat with was called holmes off road 4 by 4.
this was a couple of years ago and maybe they`ve changed names.
probably better to steer clear if unsure of their reputation.
the company down layhams, although not landrover, i have used and would recommend.
it can be a minefield out there. good luck

sorry just can't remember the name of the owner , they always had at least 10-15 landies for sale , the one I looked at had more plates than chassis on it

all of them were death traps , chassis rusting away and silly prices

hopefully the guy who ran it has been closed down

That's harsh. Germany is a mate of mine. Everything he has done for me is spot on. He's not a company. He does it in his spare time.

If I know of BHM in Biggin Hill. Only used them for parts although I did ask about some welding and got a silly price. Glad I didn't use them now!
