Where do you all buy the parts your 4x4s need from ?
Is it locally i.e Autosave, Land Rover themselves etc or do you buy from mail order catalogues i.e Rimmer Bros etc.

I don't mind paying but when it comes to a huge price difference from one company to the next that is what i begrudge.

I'm just interested on where you folks buy your parts from.

Cheers,
Dec

I find paddock spares good and theres a local company called bearmach which are excellent,Personally i find Bearmach will always better the price of the dealer and the parts a genuine a lot of the time.

I use my trade supplier for all consumables but anything specific to Landy I use my local independant (Worldwide Land Rover) because I find that there price is the same as buying parts of Paddocks/Cradddocks onc P&P is included and I have the convenience of being able to pick parts up off them up to 7.00pm each evening or all day Saturday which save having to have somebody waiting in all day in case a parcel delivery is expected, besides by supporting the Indy's we keep a network of them going around the country, which must be good for us in the long run.

i use paddocks to get me buy, but have recently found a good parts dealer to the east of bristol, so i pop in there when i get the chance. land rover orphanage in chippenham never have the parts i need!

lost somewhere with ANC
Paddocks need to sort this out. I've had 2 orders from them lately that have gone missing. ANC website claimed they were delivered, phoned their local contractor Cooper Carriers, who never have a ****in clue and just bull**** you, then the stuff turns up over the next few days. A bloke writing in one of the mags had the same experience so it must be standard procedure. Paddock need to sort this out before it loses them customers.

I've dealt with MM4X4 by mail order quite a few times and so has my son in the past when he had an RR - never had a problem. They even called me back once to double check a part before shipping so I can only call as I find - very good!

Just had a look at their site and I have to tell you that of all the stuff I've bought recently every single item is cheaper at Paddocks, some by quite a margin, plus Paddocks delivery charge is a fiver or free if the order is over 50 quid.:D

Yep step at MM nearly £40
paddock 24.50 = vat

hmm

I ordered a load of tools, screws etc off screwfix and paid extra to have it delivered Saturday. When it didn't turn up I phoned them and they said they'd sort it finally got it on Tues after they resent the order because Cooper carriers had "lost" the 1st order. When it arrived They also delivered the 1st order as well. So I got 2 of everything. Coopers are crap.

i've had two orders from paddocks be very late, 8 days on "express delivery"! still waiting on the other one!!

first one i placed on the interweb then the two days later i phoned up as i'd forgotten a part, it was small enough to go by regular post. they ended up turning up on the same day!

im lucky in that im less than 20mins from a independant dealer. they only deal with landrovers and can get new stuff genuine and non genuine and sell it to me (valued customer in every weekend since i was 15) at trade prices. however 2 years ago they would be breaking 2 or three landrovers at anyone time but recently there's been a noticable shift towards more lucrative buisness of just servicing the newer end of the landrover range. labour prices have gone up to £46 p/h and they are currently breaking their first 90 for over 6 months. that said second hand prices are still very competetive aswell. i recently asked about a s/h replacment bulkhead for my (now sold) 110 and was told £125 complete. and that was with every thing from the steering wheel to the brake servo.
one thing is for sure i wouldn't be this interested in land rovers (or broke) if they wern't so close.:D
