i removed all the connector and pushed a bended paperclip into the 2 holes on the connectors. this made the pins inside the connector tighter. next i removed the wires from the connector going to the fuel pressure sensor and soldered them on to the sensor. since then the car drives fine except from some black smoke. I assume the car might be chiptuned and because of that it gets a bit more diesel than normal. Is there a way to adjust the fuel pump delivery?

may or may not be due to remap....there is still the possibility of either faulty rail sensor or maf..... if it only smokes a little at full throttle but is OK normal driving can you put up with it or is fuel consumption heavy?

If its only recently started black smoking then, as Chaser states, it's unlikely to be the mapping. The fuel pump on the TD4 is just a high pressure feed pump and unlike the old style in line or rotorary/dpa pump cannot be adjusted to reduce the injection rate (screw them down before mot then open them up after good old days).

the cars smokes abnormal. when it idles i can see the black smoke. i also noticed that it doesn't have as much power as it use to. it doesn;t have any faultcode. i unerstand that the pump can't be adjusted. i still have the old fuel pressure sensor. i will give that a try

I note in an earlier post you said the turbo hoses were 'sweating'.

This is them becoming somewhat porous due to old age rather than mileage.

Have you checked them really carefully all over for splits?

A bit of oil in them (especially the 90 degree bend one) is normal and does not necessarily mean that your turbo is on the way out.
