I have the exact same problems and thanks to this thread I can now ( after getting motor0 get it sorted hopefully I did consider getting them plated and welded up as Iv never realy bothered about sunroofs as they are alll just asking to leak IMO
Glad to hear this thread has helped, tbh I should have taken more photos but once I get started I get lost in the moment and get stuck in, and easily side tracked, and before long the jobs done and I have forgotten to take a load of image :(

I have tested the sunroof repair yesterday with a hose pipe on sprinkler mode, and left it running for 10mins whilst I checked for leaks, I could see a minute amount of water trying to push through the seal at the front of the rear sunroof, nothing on the front sunroof though. - I know this isn't a proper test so I shall leave the headlining off for a week and await wet weather to check.. knowing my luck their will be a heat wave on it's way :p

To be honest I would never have undertaken a job like this previously, and I couldn't have done the repair work without the help from the lads/girls on this forum!

It does give a huge buzz when you get to the bottom of the problems and it all works. Been there with mine and having used standard silicone I have found out it is just starting to weep between the frame and roof again, so will go down the Tiger seal route...I am wondering if the seal gets broken by the differential expansion of the metal roof and the plastic sunroof frame. standard bathroom silicone just doesn't cut it.

I've just refurbished my motors, it wasn't easy. The cleaning out the rust was the easy bit. My brushes broke so I bought some off e bay for a Kenwood mixer and sanded them down to the correct size. Then they had to have the ends cut off and be soldered to the capacitor and the other brush post. Fiddly but do able. I have test run them off the car to bed the brushes in but havn't put them back in yet. Next job re seal the roofs and do the famous drains. Fingers crossed
