Hi all,

I’m working on my 2004 Td4 this weekend, after reading loads of helpful articles on this site I have some new silicone hoses as I found a cheeky little hole in one as it was rubbing on a screw as describe in other peoples threads I have also got myself a EGR blanking plate from EBay which will also be fitted.

Now for the real question, I have noticed the anti freeze is just below minimum so I’m going to attempt my first coolant flush etc. Could someone please confirm my research that this product is suitable...?

Thanks again

Hi,

Yes - that's the right kind of anti-freeze - OAT - and is reddishy pink.

I suggest that you flush out the stem a couple of times before putting in the antifreeze, as you can only get about 80% of the old drained out.

I used 4 litres of the concentrated a/f which is just over the 50% mix.

Read up on here about bleeding the system as it often needs a few goes over several days to get all the trapped air out. Only bleed it when you first start the engine when its cold.

Singvogel.

Forgot to add - when you open the bleed screw - only open it 2 turns - beware of taking it out completely - the little beggars have a habit of jumping out from your fingers and disappearing into never-never land down the back of the engine! :(
