Wet floor

Got a bit of a leak from the bulkhead i think. Dried out yesterday, rained overnight and i found a pool of water under the accelerator and the passenger footwell was also wet.

Is this a standard leak!

you can probably find it if you really want to but you could also drive yourself mad trying to stop a landy from leaking

Search for 'water ingress manual' on this forum and use dum dum to fill holes and gaps

Good luck with that, still haven't completely cured my leak, been trying on and off for two years.

Have a look at your door seals first if they are not fitting properly. also check around the top of the bulkhead for any rust holes. Next check around he vent flaps too. If your not using them seal with sealant especially for winter time. Due to Land Rover Defender design you will lean new tricks in the repair department very quickly. Oh and by the way if you are suffering from wet knee syndrome. Look in the top corners above the door line. There are two channels and a gap which allows the water to seep out. You will need to dismantle the headlining first and seal in the top corners.

My windscreen seal leaks around the bottom corner. When it rains you can watch the water pooling up on the top of the seal inside of the screen until it spills off , runs down the bulkhead behind the dash, and drips onto your foot. At which point I look up at the road again and swerve if necessary.

Get used to owning a defender, my solution is get waterproof mats or get rid of them, and keep a towel in your cab.

You mean dress like this don't on a summer day in Manchester

I was getting water into the footwell and looked at the water ingress manual did al the stuff but it kept happening. Someone on here found that water was getting in through those little windows on the edge of the roof where the seals were old and then running along the sill inside the roof before running down the inside of the drivers door into the footwell.

A few days back I used some old waxoyl and painted it around the roof gutter and the window seals. It ****ed with rain all of yesterday and there was no water in the footwell. Sorted!! Just waxoyl the whole damn car!
