Folks, Anyone ever gone to Outer Hebrides in there LR. One of the monthly mags reckons its the dogs duddas. Thanks for any views

Went last summer- Best to get on the Caladonian Macbrayne website and book their Island hopper deals as they are now cheap as chips because it is now subsidised by the govenrment, (one of their better ideas). The weather was great and plenty food available as the co - op seem to be everywhere. Stornoway black pudding is great. Highlights were Luskentyre beach in Harris and Uig in Lewis. Both have excellent, cheap campsites right on the beach or you can rough it in the Machair (moorland). All the beaches are great for kayaking and BBQs.
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you want more info.
Regards
Mic

bestest holidays you'll ever have - probably the finest scenery you'll see in the world, along with the best food and drink around

why people spend their hard earnt on 2 weeks in costa del hangover beats me

Well i can say its a pleasure living here(Isle of Lewis),wouldnt want my kids growing up anywhere else!Plenty of sights to see,and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to off-roading.Every village has a peat-road gate, which as long as you close it after you-leads to miles of moor and fun!Cheers Paul.
