P38A Got to sell my car, but advice needed on getting best price?

I guess wanting to sell a Range Rover is the last taboo! :) The car is actually not in a bad nick, but there is a dent in the door, and the rear bumper is not connected. Once you do the body work, you need to take it off springs, and back on air - and the head lining is not the best. Otherwise...

P38A Got to sell my car, but advice needed on getting best price?

To be honest, I wasn't aware there was a selling board or a limitation of who could use it. I'm assuming it isn't a good way to sell rolling restorations if it's that difficult to get access to it? Then, let me ask a different question. When is the best time of year to sell a potential project car?

P38A Got to sell my car, but advice needed on getting best price?

Well, I was just getting into being a happy P38 owner and restorer, and life kicks in. Short story is I need to sell my 1999 P38 HSE Diesel. Question is, while its a perfectly road worthy car, its got a few aches and pains which might scare a few people away - so is there a better option than...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

A useful weekend - my central locking on the P38 now works perfectly. Splashed a little rust converter under the car too, but think I need to do that job with a bit more precision to gain long term benefit from it. Also tried to convert the dash lights in the heating module to LED, but the...

Is fixing Range Rovers the same mentality regardless of model?

This is exactly my worry with too much emphasis on electronics - wires degrade, as my work on old motorbikes taught me, never mind what happens to the boards! So, if the P38 is the best car I can hope to get, I guess I need to look after it! :) Thanks to everyone for their feedback!

Is fixing Range Rovers the same mentality regardless of model?

I've owned my p38 for about 6 months, and am starting to understand how these cars are put together, what I need to do to fix them, and why they are so popular as forever cars. So my question is, are all the later models built with the same 'all components serviceable with the right attitude' or...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had a useful day where I got around to restoring the Window buttons in the centre console. Less than an hour and all the windows now work perfectly. Next job is the front locks - although rather than just replacing them, I've decided to replace the motors and look to reduce the power in the RF...

Advice needed for a complete Land Rover newbie - Range Rover vs Range Rover Sport

The figure I gave is so I get a receipt from the local specialist - my car had 20 years of bills and service history, and still needed £1700 spent to get it through its MOT! If you do your own work, you can easily halve that figure!

Advice needed for a complete Land Rover newbie - Range Rover vs Range Rover Sport

My experience with older models is they need to be treated as a pet and not like a washing machine. Its going to not be perfect most of the time, and the cost of running it is down to you. I have a 1999 Range Rover, and have budgeted £500 a month to keep it on the road, not including fuel. I'm...

P38A Ignition key error, is this a DIY fix or do I need a garage?

Thanks for the link - got an email from Britcar this morning saying it was out of stock - so I ordered from ebay! Its now next weekend's job!

P38A Ignition key error, is this a DIY fix or do I need a garage?

It worked! The trick for me was to realise that there was a slight key flap, which, in my case, was totally stuck, so I didn't even realise it was there.. I squirted some graphine power in there, followed by lots of cheap maintenance fluid. Finally, I used an adapted paperclip so I could ensure...

P38A Ignition key error, is this a DIY fix or do I need a garage?

Thanks for all your replies, but unfortunatley, this hasn't worked for me. I removed the key barrel and soaked it in contact cleaner for a few hours to see if that would work. After a good wiggle, I replaced it, but it still shows the message. Not sure what the next step would be - any advice?

P38A Ignition key error, is this a DIY fix or do I need a garage?

P38 - 1999 Diesel HSE - I get the Key in Ignition error, where I don't have a key in the ignition, and the central locking isn't working. I want to get this working like new but can't work out what is involved. What I need is to find out is all the different areas that are affected, like a flow...

    P38A Prices these days...!

I paid £2k for my 1999 Diesel in Sept, and makes the MOT bill of £1500 easier to accept. The reality is, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay, and these companies know a lot of very rich people with too much money, looking for 'investments'!
