Fitting a Double Dinn GPS/DVD into dash

Thanks for the previous advice. Unfortunately for me, the swap wasn't so easy! I installed my stereo with the lead from auto leads and ended up with no sound? Not sure what went wrong. I can see that there's a number of wires heading off to the HK amplifier that don't have a feed now...

Great, thanks for the reply. I was getting that feeling earlier in the thread, but just wanted confirmation!

Fitting a Double Dinn GPS/DVD into dash

Now, I hate to attempt to drag this back to something like the original thread, but here goes! Now, I've read almost word for word up to about page 35 (of 74 currently), but I was probably going a bit stir crazy at that point. Similarly, I've tried to scan and search other threads, to no...

    Freelander tyre issue

Good move, I had the same issue in terms of the droning noise - simply measured the height of the fronts and rears and there was an inch difference in height (= diameter) - changed all 4 tyres and everything was fine. I changed the VCU at exactly the same time (using a similiar thought process...

    My new Freelander!

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've now done the EGR bypass and fitted a synergy 2 with Pierburg MAF - again, what a difference they've made. On the first tank of fuel, I'm not seeing a lot of change in fuel efficiency, I don't think, but it's just made the car so much easier to drive, and it...

    My new Freelander!

Thanks for the reply. Strangely, I was doing some research on the Synergy 2 this morning....... There's many convincing arguments to upgrade with the Pierburg (sp?) MAF as well.

    My new Freelander!

Sorry - not clear enough - I have replaced the tyres all round since there was previously a 1 inch diameter difference. The rears were pretty good, actually, but I wanted to ensure it was all matching. (So I've got a couple of very good spares for the future!). I'm pretty sure the mismatched...

    My new Freelander!

Hi all. So, I bought my '05 TD4 Sport Premium about a month ago. Major issue was a repetitive 'hum' / vibration at 50+ mph. Thanks to some helpful types on this forum, I sorted out a couple of minor issues that I had initially. Work carried out so far: Oil / filter change (had no idea...

    Freelander TD4 Engine Flush.

Thanks all for the advice. Maybe will do another oil change in a couple of months - as previously mentioned, not sure when last done, so one now, and another once the new oil has been used to 'flush' the system, and then I'll be happy! Cheers!

    Freelander TD4 Engine Flush.

Thanks - that's an interesting take on things! So, just regular oil changes from now on then! (Not sure when it was last done, but the oil looks very black......).

    Freelander TD4 Engine Flush.

Hi all. Again, have searched but not found a definitive answer. Is it safe to add an oil flush to a TD4 prior to oil change? I've seen a number of posts mentioning that not all the oil drains - therefore if there are galleries that hold onto the oil (which is now contaminated with Engine...

New to Freelanding - couple of mech questions.

Thanks for the extra confirmation, OP.

New to Freelanding - couple of mech questions.

Brilliant - thanks both for the info. The metal pipe is indeed 'swan necked' - and yes, it could be from the IRD, as opposed to the engine itself. I'm not very happy that it's just swinging around up there - so may try to find a connector, to keep it a little more rigid! Thanks again.

New to Freelanding - couple of mech questions.

Hi all. First post, so go easy on me. Recently acquired an '05 TD4 Sport and have a couple of questions, having had time to have more of a look in the engine bay. So, at the rear of the engine (adjacent to the brake cylinder) , there's what looks like a fuel filter, dangling from a pipe...
