    front wiper linkage broken

Hi all, anyone know how to remove the plastic lugs from the fascia covering the wiper linkage and motor please? There's a little hole in the top of each plastic cover but I don't want to force anything in case I break something and have to replace more than I need. Cheers.

What have you done to your Freelander today

I have cursed my freelander today!!! This is because the gearbox is whining, the rear diff is leaking, and the vcu has probably caused it all. Very close to scrapping it! Just had a new clutch put in just before Xmas. Not a happy soul. If it's going to cost more than 300 notes to put right it's...

Knocking from rear of the car when running (fuel pump?)

If it's knocking whilst stationary I'd go with exhaust mounting too. If it's when you change gear and there's an audible clunk it could be rear diff mounts. This is one issue that tends to occur quite regularly on my freelander. Not too difficult to sort out and mounts are relatively cheap on...

    Hello folks

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but on a freelander the brake pedal sensor can play up setting off the 3 amigos as they are commonly called. I've never owned a defender, but could it be the same issue. Replaced mine and sorted it out in ten minutes. Just a thought?

    Front suspension rattle/thudding noise 2003 td4

Well the top half is completed but still getting the creaking grinding noise so its got to be one of the bushes on the arms or the lower ball joint. I have the complete arm and the housing for the big rear bush with the bush already in place so should cure the noise? The weather's a bit pi$$y...

    Wishbone Bushings

The rear bushes, the big nasty buggers, can be bought fairly reasonably for around £26 each. That includes the housing ready fitted. It makes a pig of a job much easier by not having to fight a new bush into the old housing, and for a few quid more keeps the stress monkey off your shoulder. A...

    Thinking of Buying One

As you said the sunroofs are a common fault, as are the window regulators if you buy one with electric windows. The big one is the vcu, but other than lots of niggly things which are fairly easy to put right yourself (if you're handy) they're a good motor. I've worked out that I've spent an...

    Front suspension rattle/thudding noise 2003 td4

I'm having the exact same problem so going to change the lower arm, rear bush and mount, and ball joint next week. I'll keep you posted. I did have a response from another member of a forum who said that a crack had developed in the subframe. I just hope I don't find that after buying all those...

    Young Drivers Insurance

I may be telling my granny how to suck eggs but try a few comparison sites. I put myself and my wife as named drivers on my daughters insurance and saved a fortune. If you haven't already tried this give it a go. My daughter is 20 and is now quoted at around 350 quid a year for a toyota aygo.

    Freelander Faults poll

Here we go: All window regulators, sunroof runners both sides, all speakers replaced, intermittent brake light fault (2 amigos) brake switch, viscous replaced 55000, turbo pipes regularly need replacing, rear diff mounts regularly need replacing, and it may come under wear and tear but the fuel...
