    Dashboard upgrade

I’m open to any options really, it’s simply due to the fact I’m going to use it as an overlander, and so a more functional dash would be preferable. I’ve just had a look at the TD5 dash, that would work too! I’m new to anything other than Wolf land rovers so stupidly assumed the others dash...

    Dashboard upgrade

Afternoon all, I’ve recently bought a 1988 Double cab and am about to replace the bulkhead. As the dash will obviously be coming out for this it got me thinking, is it possible to upgrade the dash to something more modern (such such as a puma dash) or is it just a bottomless hole of electrical...

    110 DCPU load bed removal

Removing the rear load bed on a 110 double cab, who’s done it and just how difficult is it? Despite driving defenders for work over the last 8 years this is my first time actually working on them in depth (Previous experience just involves swearing at them, trying to work out where the noise is...

Apologies gents, I’ve been away with work so haven’t been on here or touched the landy in a few weeks! You’re both absolute god sends, a considerable order has gone in with YRM and hopefully I should get it all sorted over the festive period! I really appreciate the help, I’m slowly getting to...

Honestly it was so badly rusted that it’s difficult to tell, if it was homemade then it was done by someone who knows how to fabricate though. I certainly wouldn’t classify it as a crossmember though, it’s made out of 1.5 inch box section, I would guess it was more of a floor support. I’ll hunt...

Make that two sets of brackets... slightly worrying! The two sets pictured and circled, both had nothing attached and judging by the amount of rust present they hadn’t for some time!!

Ah well that answers another question, there’s a set of brackets on the chassis with nothing attached  I think it’s a fairly safe bet that this is it!

Not quite, I’m Army but that photo was taken on a ship whilst alongside in South Georgia.

In that case it would sit behind the vertical upstand and in front of the wheel well box beneath the 2nd row. Unfortunately I’ve seen the one you’ve posted and it isn’t quite. The one I’ve removed is made of 1.5” box section, I think I’ll just accept that I’m going to have to brush up on my...

The part reference is very helpful, thank you! Unfortunately it still doesn’t list the individual part I’m looking for, which furthers my belief that it isn’t an original part. The general consensus seems to be that they’re a very reliable brand, so I’ll be going with them.

That’s excellent, exactly what I’m looking for! You’re correct, unfortunately the whole side frame has gone on both sides so I’ll be replacing with those galvanised ones. That’s the one, I’m waiting on my parts manuals to turn up so I’m not familiar with part names at all so far!o_O I do like...

That’s exactly what I’m after, thank you very much!

I’ve owned my One Ten less that a month so please bear with me... I’m in the process of de-rusting and rebuilding and I’m struggling to get my head around parts, largely because what I’m removing is so badly rusted that it’s difficult to tell where one part ends and another begins! Would anyone...

    Rust... and lots of it!

I’ve looked up the chassis number and discovered that it wasn’t originally a Double cab. letter 7 of the chassis number is ‘A’ which indicates it left the factory as ‘Truck cab, Soft top or hard top (Utility Body)’ or possibly a hi-cap as some had the A prefix also. So is it possible that...

    Have I bought a Defender?
