Thanks for the steer on a reader. I’ve been researching them and it’s a little confusing with Nodge suggesting his icarsoft isn’t quite up to scratch

Fault reader is an option I’ll have to go down unless someone indicates a potential area to examine next. Seems odd to me that HDC isn’t working

TD4 - 2002
Firstly my apologies for creating another thread on the above topic. I’ve trawled through previous threads and my issue isn’t covered.
In brief, I have the three amigos permanently on and the HDC won’t work. The HDC switch has power. The HDC relay seems to be good although the...

Just an update. Having spoke to AF (very helpful btw) they advised that they didn’t have the £3 bushes in stock but after checking their suppliers they offered me some Febi Bilstein ones at about £10 each. I’ve ordered them but it’s all a bit of a lottery.

Hi all. I have to replace the rear suspension bushes. I’d prefer to stick with rubber rather than poly and I could do without paying £30 per bush for genuine ones. On Nodges recommendation Advanced Factors supply at £3 per bush but such a cheap cost makes me nervous of their quality. I’ve found...

Hi all. I’ve got 5 x 16inch Freedom rims and Pirelli Verdes with 6mm plus for sale if anyone is interested. Tyres have done 6553 miles. Rims have done 57k miles.

You’ve done a lot of work on it then. Looks mint. Love that orange detailing. Would be interested to know the colour code?

You absolutely don’t need to worry about this journey. The car will enjoy it. It’s the easiest 530 miles it will ever do. Cars do nothing on straight, flat motorways. For example, brakes and clutch are hardly used. Engines can get warm on long stints but even that helps blow off the heavy carbon...

Yeah that’s what I’m after. Fill those arches. Cheers Nodge

I’m just trying to achieve a better look and maintain a smooth ride. I agree the cars look better when the arches are filled although a 65 profile is a bit too much sidewall for my liking.
andyfreelander’s 65’s on the Vortex look good though I have to say. I’ll have to do more pondering...

Great thread this.
Can anyone see why I can’t fit 235/55 R17’s to the BBS Vortex rims?
The diameter is less than 1% bigger than current 215/65 R16’s abs my research on here suggests a 235 will not foul the spring cup. However is 235mm too big for the 7j rim?

Repaired drivers door lock actuator.
Process: Removed and stripped the actuator, replaced one of the tiny motors with a new one from China, reassembled and re-fitted, removed it again (as the polarity meant it opened when it should close and vice versa), switched the polarity around then...

I was under the impression many additives are snake oil but a rare few, Liqui Moly and Comma D-tox, do have positive, noticeable results?

Will use a rust converter first and then a 2 part epoxy mastic both supplied by Rustbuster. Need temps to be at least 10 degrees for the converter to work and it’s not that warm yet!

Finished scratting all the rust off the undercarriage. It’s been a monumental task on a cold, sometimes damp concrete floor but it’s kept me occupied whilst the pubs are shut. For anyone interested I used a small pecker hammer to descale the flaky stuff then a cordless 4inch grinder with an...
