when i checked oil its over the full mark but ok when i dipped it the other day it was low so topped it up to the mark yes this as just happened suden

hi lads i was driveing my p38 on s reg when oil light came on stopped right away checked it lots of oil on stick drove 40 yards then started makeing a knocking noise towed it home checked the next day starts like a new motor then when it starts getting warm say 4 mins oil light come on then...
