You can remove the buklhead behind the seats and make alterations to allow thye seat to be mounted further back- the bulkhead is replaced by a steel strengthening tube which runs across the floor. However this will push you behind the door pillar which will severely restrict your side view...

If you are going to get the snorkel working, do the job right and move it over to the other side where it should be. By the sound of it, it will be no more work than all the f^%%ing around you will have to do involving ducting etc. It can't be that difficult a job.

B*&^%y landies! Found that there was indeed a problem with a bad earth by rigging up a link from the existing earth to a good earth - got the rear lamps / brakes working fine. Then created a permanent attachment to the new good earth and everything fine. Went out two hours later to go for...

I use a methodical, analytical, problem solving approach to any work I do on the landie. So yes I did hit it with a hammer, that didn't work so I used a bigger one. As that didn't work either it must need something else.
