There was indeed a lug broken of selector shaft inside gearbox which gave the feeling of gears being selected but weren't.
Replaced gearbox and all was sorted.

Do you have pressure on clutch pedal when pressing?
You say propshaft is juddering is it turning at all?

Can you select every gear with engine running and clutch not depressed? I had this issue but could get 5th & reverse to drive, fault was broken selector inside gearbox.

Is the fuel pressure control valve also known as fuel pressure sensor?
if so how much should I expect to pay, dealer quoted £265+ vat.

Changed thermostat, blanked off egr and cleaned manifold, new fuel filter, on TD4.
Huge difference to running of car but hell of days work.

I have a recurring fault code 1195 fuel pressure control valve.
Can anyone tell me where to source one ?
