    Rear bench seats

No seat belt is designed for a side facing seat, so I wouldn't bother with belts or put kids on a side facing seat.

    Auto electrician in Huddersfield

So am I. Now I can get back to the task in hand. Wiring my 10 spot lights and heated screen. I've bought plug and play wiring looms and had a new accessory fuse box fitted so should be plain sailing:rolleyes:

    Auto electrician in Huddersfield

Autolec are opposite malbrad, same yard as the plumb centre. I never thought of nd haigh. I always associate them with stereos. It's the first time I've ever taken a car to a garage, bar MOT time. I normally do everything myself but the cold, dark and landrovers awesome wiring drove me to it.

    Auto electrician in Huddersfield

All sorted now. I took it to the lads at autolec, Huddersfield. Very good service indeed. All working great now and they've done some of the jobs that would have taken me weeks to complete, all for 200 quid. Thanks for the replies and advise. Il try them tonight. I've checked the voltage this morning after driving to work and the voltage looked a lot better. Perhaps my failing alternator was draining the battery.

    Quick battery question.

Afternoon all. I've just upgraded my alternator to a 100amp jobbie on my defender with a 300tdi. On checking the voltage I'm getting nearly 15 volts at the back of the alternator but less than 13 at the battery. Am I to assume my battery is on its way out? Forgive me if it's a daft...

I've got mi sen a multi meter and been having a play. Headlights fine. Earth seems fine as does the dipped beam wiring. The problem is when I turn full beam on. Earth still seems ok but one wire has around 8.5 volts and the other 0.85 volts so I'm guessing there is a short somewhere. Now I just...

    Headlight problem

I'm guessing the headlights are fine, as after replacement with new units I've got the same problem. As for testing earths and switches I don't really know how to do it:( I was hoping for an answer along the lines of "cut the green wire and hit the ref one with the big hammer";) as that's...
