Hi Borntobemild. When I raised it to off road height it seemed to get to the right height ok. The compressor ran for a minute or two and then stopped. Is there a test I can do to see if the bags are knackered?

I've got a D2 '99 TD5 and today it came up with a new problem. After turning the ignition off and removing the key there was a deep noise, like a motor trying to turn but being stuck, or a pump - sorry, hard to explain a noise in text. It's made the noise before but for only about 5 seconds...

Try changing gears at low revs. If its been chipped it should change gear at just over 1000rpm with no problem, all the way up to 5th gear. If it hasn't been chipped it'll struggle. Also see how responsive it is in 5th gear, travelling between 30mph and 60mph it should accelerate cleanly and...

I fannied about with a cheap one from ebay, it fitted ok and worked ok, noisier than the genuine LR on though. Downside was that it didn't read the fuel level properly - reserve light came on when there was 20+ litres still in the tank. Swapped it for a genuine LR pump, well worth it, quieter...

Just checked and it still works - it's an online deal. They won't tell you that there are free filters - it's a bit of a hidden deal, I think it's maybe been left on by accident. Make sure you follow the instructions - choose the triple QX oil, then select oil filters, one per 5ltr of oil...
