I can just see movement where the shaft disappears towards the diff. Is the CV joint part of the driveshaft itself?

Hi On my RR Sport L320 the front drive shaft is rattling where it enters the diff' Particularly noising when decelerating. Is there a bearing in there or is the diff likely to be toast?
