Rattling diff

Hi
On my RR Sport L320 the front drive shaft is rattling where it enters the diff' Particularly noising when decelerating. Is there a bearing in there or is the diff likely to be toast?
 
Too answer yes there are.

But are you sure its not the front cv joint on the prop thats rattling?
Can you see the diff flange moving?

I can just see movement where the shaft disappears towards the diff. Is the CV joint part of the driveshaft itself?

Yes 1 at each end, they can be changed themselves as long as the splined shaft is good. Some have been known to wear the splines so would need a good look at.

I changed 1 on the front on the L322 but yours is the same design. (they sent the wrong prop as I was going to change the whole lot).

In the pic its the bit you can see on each end.

What year is yours I don't remember if they had the diff recall on the 320, as the front was different originally then changed to the new style

it's 2006. I'll see if i can get a better look at it. Appreciate your help everyone. It has plenty of problems. Suspension fault light comes on followed by HDC special systems off too.

While we are discussing crocs why is it that welding sparks always seem to drop straight through the holes onto me toes:p???
