Perhaps you've got a bit of old spam stuck in your beard from breakfast...
Why so cynical? My original post was 100% genuine - thought it would be a help to forum members - surely one of the purposes of Landyzone?

Cheers mate - turned out you have to make sure the function button is lit first, then press the preset button till the frequency flashes and THEN press the preset again.... Bingo! No more messing about!

Does anyone out there have this model of Alpine radio fitted and more importantly do you have a copy of the instructions? I need to know how the station programming function works...

Andy may or may not be a decent mechanic but only an idiot would have the bare faced cheek to use a forum link as their website to advertise without asking permission.....let alone an LZ thread.

My Disco 1 is causing me a few headaches. The most recent trick it's pulling is that the transmission is locking up when I reverse around corners. It doesn't really happen when I'm reversing straight though. I recently renewed the shock absorbers but can't imagine I did anything that would...

Might be the pump itself leaking. Had to change mine last year as she was losing a lot of oil, symptoms as you describe.

Sorry if this topic has been done to death but I'm looking for a bar to mount my front driving lights on. I can't mount them direct to the bumber as the bolts are not long enough to go through the bumper and number plate assembly. Does anyone make something reasonably priced? I'm not really...

Bulb holders are clearly visible when you remove the switch, and they are colour coded-one green and one orange. Just take a smallish screwdriver and turn the slot anti-clockwise. You may need to tap the switch on the table to persuade the bulb holder out.

Having a spot of bother removing the gear knob from my disco. It's at a funny angle and I want to reposition it, but I can't shift it. I've tried grunting a lot and that didn't help:mad: Is it threaded or simple push-on pull-off? I have a nasty feeling it might have been glued...
Any...

It's probably just the diaphragm under the seat that's gone. Not available new but if you can find a 2nd hand one easy enough to fit with a bit of grunting...

Yes, Biglad, that makes sense to me. It was a petrol engine Spitfire and the improvement a 4-2-1 manifold and straight through box made was amazing once I'd enriched the carbs slightly. You just had to drive it hard tho...:D

Grunting; lots of it and a blunt chisel. Job done. Not quite sure how:D

Could someone give me a pointer as to how to fit the seat diaphragm to a Disco 1 seat. I'm struggling to stretch the diaphragm to reach the clip locations:mad:
