 In the past 2 weeks my local village garage has 2 Freelanders in both 1.8 petrols and both for head gasket. Also on ebay the other week a one was for sale for spares or repair due to the third engine that had been fitted blowing a head gasket. So make your own mind up.

The bolts with mine ,at most, were only 2" long , came from Paddocks.

 With alot of swearing. I slide the nut in place using a spanner and screwed the bolt up. It is even more fun if you have rear air con .;)

;) I had to do my drivers door. After removing door panel and plastic sheet, i managed to push the connecting rod outwards and with an 8mm ring spanner tighten the lock nut , only needs a couple of turns :)

 The seal kit i need is the £115 + the dreaded. Also alot easier to fit a new cylinder:D

Ordered one from Mansfield 4x4. They matched Paddocks price. Good old boys.:)

:( Seal kits for the master cylinder are landrover only so its cheaper to buy a new cylinder. Absolutely bananas.

:( Hi . My 300tdi ES Disco with ABS has failed its M.O.T on a brake problem and i'm after some ideas on the cause. The tester said that when the pedal is pressed down under heavy braking it continues to creep down therefore causing a poor braking reading. There is no fluid loose from the system...

:) I just ran the wire from my light bar in over the door top and down behind the panel between door and windscreen. Then wired it into the fog lamp switches in the central consol:cool:
-
 The air intake should be passenger side . I was once told that the TD engine always had oil problems and the best answer would be a 200Tdi lump.;)
-
 Diff guards would be first as this is the lowest point, followed by steering:)
