when I apply the brake, the pedal is bumping up and down under my foot

thanks marmaduke, I have now looked and it appears that I do not have ABS,which poses another question, is the bumping on the brake pedal definately a rear brake problem, or could there be another cause maybe?

Brian the drain tube runs down the back pillar where the rear lights are, if you look from underneath you will see it quite easily, and if you open the back (boot) door the pillar that the door hinges on you will find an inspection hole that you can get your hand in.

Looks like you are correct deiseldog rear uj on front propshaft nacked will report again when a new one is fitted, many thanks David
