:smash:Help needed with my freelander 1 . 1999 1.8 petrol . I have my VCU removed due to failure and the car has been running great without it for over a year . Today a rumbling / grinding sound started when I was driving . It is coming from the IRD. I drained the oil from the ird and it was like tar in texture , really gloppy with lots of metal fragments in it and gun metal grey in colour . Something in the ird has turned to mush it's more or less liquid metal . If I continue to run the car in this condition can I cause damage to the main gearbox ? Thanks in advance
