The above MEWPS have been industry standards for ages now in Film and TV.
However for both you still require prelaid trackway for accessing remote sites when out on location.
With the Landrover base you could get in and out before the powers that be have even considered where to lay the track.

Yeh, they were originally converted to carry out inspections on telegraph poles in fields.
It's the MEWP access over rough terrain that is useful to me in greens.

I think for maintainability and engine age a lot of them are being phased out by newer pick ups or like you say Vans.
