    I had a problem with the chrome trim flaking. Got it all off and brought some 12mm 5m long from ebay for a fiver. With a bit of care and accurate cutting its easy to replace. that was 2 years ago and it does lift the sides visually. it is esential, perhaps not. but it does look better...

    When you stick the tape on make sure it goes past the corners at the top, sometime double it up. when its dry get some seek and seal, or mastic flexible sealant (Black) and inject it in between the rubber seal and windscreen/roof. Pay particular attention o the corners Wipe off any excess...

    While you are doing this it's worth checking for any oil leaking from the transmission. If it is leaking then the seal could be on it's way out. This oil contaminates the brake shoes and can effect the handbrake use.

    Its just passed MOT and the only item picked up was a worn drag link end, would this cause the problem, all other bushes are fine. Will have the ABS checked out soon.

    Could be. Certainly was on mine. as you drive off any water moves to the back and can appear anywhere... Worth checking for any pin holes in the roof channel.

    I presume you have a TDi 300. Water can get in through the top of the windscreen, check the area and see if the rubber has perished. To eliminate the area use some electrical tape and temporary seal the top of the windscreen with it. If the water stops then get the windscreen re-bonded...

    It soulds like an air trap, taking it apart and cleaning would help, then in putting it back on any trapped air may get expelled

    I have the same problem and replaced the fuse twice. After check the wiring and just fiddling with it I could not see any damage. since this it still blows the fuse...
