That type of compressor is a sod as it will suddenly move and trap loose flesh, which is why I allus uses an extension on my big one, i.e. the one that does it with a head off.

No indeed not, but it is only by driving it around that you get to test if your "tinkering" is producing positive results. So it is a good excuse to say "just popping out for 20 minutes to check out what I just altered love, be back soon."...
