Yaaa well happy new year and fy too. I think it's great to bring a vehicle up to new standards w/o suction cups all over the windshield and holes drilled all over the dash. This install would absolutely pass as OEM were it not for the big "Pioneer" logo. And wtf is wrong with someone enjoying...

You can't upload the pics to this site. Use Picasa, photobucket, etc, upload the pic there and link to here using the little 'pic' symbol above the input window.

All no longer important - got one. Thanks anyway, though.
BTW, the length is the same - it's the 4HP24 from the 4.6 that's longer.
The ratios... I would have thought there is a difference too. But check 'General specification data - automatic transmission' in the RAVE. There are the 2...

Hello everyone,
I have a DSE with an automatic that is on it's way out. I'd like to rebuild the transmission, but I need the RR nearly daily. The thought was to do as I've done with other items before; buy a used unit and rebuild the original when I have time.
Prob is, there are 4.0...

Actually that's not quite true - although you will need the navi wiring harness (loom - sorry I'm American). Pre 06's are basically BMW's, electrics-wise. BMW offered retrofit kits - LR never did.
We'll see. I have all components and hope to begin installing w/in the next couple of weeks. Will...

OK, my wording was a little harsh... Sorry Pandy.
I just thought it ridiculous to post something like that especially stated as fact. Speculation needs to be stated as such.
Big Boss hasn't been back yet. He's either head over in the engine compartment or at the local parts supplier looking for...

Must agree 100% with Spud. I wouldn't want a DSE w/o a chip.
But it's usually not the head gaskets that die, its the heads. Crack between the valve seats and prechamber allowing combustion pressure to enter the cooling passages and emptying the cooling system w/in seconds either through the...

Exactly. The diesel only turns the fans on if the AC press goes too high(=hot). Either a faulty pressure switch or faulty wiring. IIRC, the switch goes to ground. There are 2 pressure switches on the AC line under the left headlight - one is high/low press for the compressor and the other for...

Amp in each door was the P38. L322 has the amp either up front in the cd player (basic sound system) or in the rear left below the navigation unit for the high-line sound system or DSP.
The radio/amp units are known to die (although this usually means no sound, not unamplified - check the...

Nope
LR states in the manual to wait 2 mins after shutting off before disconnecting the battery to allow the computer to shut down.
I'd be back at the garage in a heartbeat.

Oh and here: Wondering why I'm up this late? PIXEL REPAIR. That's why.
MID is the same.
There aren't amps all over, BTW. That was the P38. Depending on your sound system (Lowline, Highline, or DSP), the amp is either in the cd player (former) or in the LR of the luggage compartment (2 latter)...
