Other what have u done on ur disco today

It's time consuming work to do these repairs; cutting, making the new metal piece to fit, preparing the area for welding and finally weld it properly. I'd say It's something like 3 hours per patch minimum.

Repaired the right side sill, found some soft spots last weekend. Cut a larger piece out under the front door and cleaned the inside of the sill from front to back with pressurized air and vacuum. Lot's of sand and dust which of course keeps the moisture inside the sill.

Freelander 1 5 door floor load capacity

I have converted my 5dr to a van and it's so practical for hauling large dogs of course but all kinds of stuff. The floor will handle heavy stuff. If you think about how much the rear seat and 2 or 3 persons + their stuff in the rear compartment weigh. My current setup includes Variocage...

While waiting for the parts for the job made spacers for the front crossmember. I have longer shocks and mild lift so in theory the propshaft could hit the crossmember. The block of steel was practically free of charge, just needed 2 hours of drilling, cutting and finishing the product. The...

    Disco 2 Disco 2 - Cheap Storage!

I've got the oem storage boxes on both sides, handy also but your solution is better for wet boots etc.

I've been reading about the topic and watched couple of youtube videos, these were mentioned: - Pressure release valve bolt check, put back with thread lock - Oil pickup o-ring change Don't know how important these would be though.

Seriously...are you planning to do other task beside the oil pump bolt when the sump is off?

I assume you changed the gearbox and didn't weld that cross member in place? 😄

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Decided that I need to check the oil pump sprocket bolt on my 2000 TD5. First job was to remove the front crossmember. Air chisel, breaker bar and 2 hours of fighting with rusty bolts and it's done. Knocked the captive nuts off with air chisel so I can use bolts and nuts when putting the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

For me there's no need for plastic bags. The hair that is left is short and I can clean them with brake cleaner if needed. ;)

The alternator is near the engine oil filter housing. I'm quite good with the filter replacement, no oil spills at that end.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Changed the engine oil and filter. Went to check the oil level in manual gearbox. The fill plug placement is just....but there's enough space to do it...and get a gear oil treatment on your hair

What have you done to your Freelander today

Did a underside check today, now when the winter is over. Propshaft carrier bearings still tight, diff doesn't move exessively, couple of rust spots haven't got any worse - nothing to worry. Then I remembered that I didn't replace the rubber turbo hose when I changed all the other ones. Found...

Help needed looking to by my first landrover

Good luck searching, Disco's are awesome. Relics in a way but very cool vehicles. I remember looking for mine months. Wanted one without sunroofs, just don't need those in a car and they typically leak. Then found one relatively close. It had the original Warn winch, had the locking centre diff...
