    Problem solved. It turned out to be one of the HT leads. :doh: One of them had a chafe on the outer sheathing which I think might have been causing the problem. Anyway, a new set of plugs and two new HT leads has solved it. Thanks for the replies/help.

    Just realised my car hasn't actually got a rotor arm. It is the camshaft sensor/ECU type. Back to the drawing board?

    Thanks for the reply. On and off it's been doing it for about three weeks but it is becoming increasingly more frequent and more severe. I will check the rotor arm, thanks for the advice.
