I’ve had a td5 for years now and used a lot of service-kits with no problem , think if you change the oil regularly you won’t have a problem , think most problems occur when people buy cheaper service items and expect them to work for 20,000 miles !!

guys , as above , sometimes when starting and driving away it’s sluggish , first couple of gears as if not firing on all cylinders or fuel starvation, doesn’t stall or not go just doesn’t clear it’s self to pull cleanly away Recently put on new injector harness and cleaned ecu box , new fuel...

guys need bit advice serviced td5 defender yesterday putting sump plug back in didn’t want to do up , it’s in fully but not tight , got a very slight weep , question is what to do ? Can it be retreaded ie a helicoil or insert put in ? Is it a new sump pan? Or is it a bodge as inepoxy or metal...

hi does anyone know how easy it would be to check history on a landrover that had been through the lr special vehicles unit ? Got the plaque in car with contract number on , be interested to know what was done to it at the factory , thanks

May be worth checking the immobiliser , you should have a red engine light come up when you turn key to show immobiliser is on and won’t allow starting , have heard the odd story of these playing up time to time

Anyone who is saying diesels are dead is a mushroom ! Pretty much all working vehicles from fire engines delivery lorry’s to your builders small van are all diesel! Any serious overland vehicle will probably be a diesel , lasts forever not overworking plenty of grunt and torque and fuel...
