alexc2701, do those brackets to support the rear tank entail drilling the chassis?
-

Thanks for the reassurance alexc2701
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there additional chassis brackets to hold a rear fuel tank that exist on modern defender 90's that I wont necessarily have on mine? Or are they all built the same? ....Got this one from Richards Chassis.
I used to have...

Thanks guys.
I've already removed the roof and when I get a chance I'll remove the sides and cappings to expose any more horrors (cos more horrors = more £££s)
I too have thought about fueling from the rear, to the tank under the driver's seat via a pipe of some sort but nah, not for me...
I'm...

Al2O3, you're absolutely right: it's the old cost of panels and repairs vs the nearly new 2nd hand debacle.
TBH, these pics are just of some of the nastiness - if I took photos of all the problem areas this thread would be mahooosive.

I'll post up some pics of the "horror story" as soon as I can.

My initial plan was to just change the chassis to a galvanised item and change the engine from the knackered and wheezy diesel Turbo to V8 petrol and of course everything else that goes with it when...

I've recently been reccommened a LR parts place in the Midlands run by a guy named "One-armed-Mick"..........
Unfortunately the guy doing the reccommending couldn't remember the official name of the place as he'd only ever know it as "One armed Mick's"
Apparently, it's not far from...

Thanks Shedjim....
I was seriously thinking of going with the "bock-fix" but then a mate pointed me in the direction of Turner Engineering..... I didn't even know you could get performance heads for LRs!!!! :D
The thing that holds me back with the rad-weld type solutions, is that my Landy is my...
