only one oil leak at the moment from the vacuum pump return
not too bad, nearly ready to put the head back on but weekends have been busy!
got a few nice bits an bobs to reassemble with so i'll put some pics up soon.
yeah so far the pistons and head look okay. only real damage is the cam followers but i'm going to replace the valves as well while i'm doing it.
if i was paying someone to do it i'm sure it would cost more than i paid for the car but just parts aint too bad. plan is to keep this car for ever...

so if i've got lucky and its not damaged the valve train or pistons, can i take the timing cover off without removing the head or sump? anyone done this before?

So driving along normally, under acceleration there wasa kind of "fffert" noise then lost all power and won't restart.
Got recovered home and upon further investigation found a hole in the rocker cover! See the photo attached.

downloaded it yesterday, the crack that's included in that one is a bit crap - you have to reset your date every time you use it.
anyone know of a better one?
