A quick follow up on this topic.
Removed the postive battery terminal over the weekend, removed the old T bolt, cleaned the battery terminal, fitted the new T bolt ( as per photo in #7 ) before reseating the positive battery terminal correctly.
The T bolts were under £4 each as opposed to a...

Thankyou for your reply Nodge68.
Yep I always wait for the system check to complete before starting. I didn`t do anything different on Sunday compared to all the other times I started the car. The battery was replaced with a new Bosch S4 008 battery two days prior to the journey.

Many thanks Arctic2 for your continued interest in this thread and for taking the time to research and post the link, very much appreciated :vb-tup:.

Have tried my basic scanner, same results......have unplugged before attempting to scan again but same link problem with that scanner too.
Both scanners go through the set up and search but before the results come up both state there is a link problem :(

Thanks very much Arctic2 for your reply.
No further issues with the Freelander on the return journey home covering another 120+ miles. Have borrowed a neighbours iCarsoft Pro scanner so I can scan for any potential codes as you suggest ;)

Just found these on Ebay, listed as BMW MINI Audi VW Ford Battery VOLVO MB Cable Clamp Securing 10mm T Bolt and Nut.
Looks like they might do the job so have ordered a couple :)

Many thanks Arctic2 for your reply and the photos :)
I appreciate and acknowledge the clamp is not seated correctly on the pole but this is the furthest I could push it onto the pole. Unfortunately as Freddie17 has correctly diagnosed the nut is rotating on the shaft.
The local LR garage...

Many thanks Arctic2 for your reply and the link ;-)
I understand what you are saying but unfortunately when I put a 10mm socket on the 10mm nut it feels like its turning but its neither tightening or undoing. I have placed a folded piece of tin foil between the battery post and clamp to attempt...

Just fitted a new Bosch battery to my Freelander 2 but the positive battery clamp 10mm nut hardly moved whilst trying to slacken off and certainly wasn`t tightening up afterwards.
Have checked Ebay and they are around £30 ish with only two suppliers based in UK.
Anyone have any alternative...

Went out this evening in my Freelander 2, I managed to pull the rear view mirror off its mount whilst trying to adjust it. I pulled over into a layby and tried to fit the mirror back on but after some fumbling with a torch trying to locate the correct position I still couldnt get the mirror to...

"Take a look at the owners handbook. The Freelander 2 has loads of stuff, which takes lots of reading to discover it all. ;)"
Yep, there is a big wide folder/wallet in the glove box containing service booklets and handbooks etc, I really must acquaint myself with their contents ;)

Many thanks Stv123 & Nodge68 for your replies.
Please accept my apologies for my ignorance. I have now restored the "range remaining in the tank" display. Thank you :)

Thank you very much Nodge68 for taking the time to reply ;)
Well how emabrrassing is that , one question though, how do I cycle through the display screens? The two buttons at the bottom of the rev counter are none functional and sit below the clear plastic screen, the button below...
