no overheating,no white gunge in oil cap,no power loss,no white smoke,but my water bottle fills up and bubbles when hot,but empty`s when engine off,steam escapes from filler bottle cap........so far everyone says immediately its head gasket,but with no other sign can it be a fault with water...

check the back box for small holes,even if very little blowing,my 2002 freelander failed lamda so checked the box,was a small hole,amazing as it is this caused it to fail mot,put new box on and warmed it up,retest sailed thru

my 2002 2.5 failed on high emissions,said it was the lamda sensor,but it turned out there was a small hole the size of a 5p piece in the back box,and the smallest amount was blowing,fitted a new back box and warmed up the engine for its retest and it sailed thru
