Thanks James, the one metal pipe that is attached to the engine has a cone and female screw on coupling, the ones that I have that do not fit have flare and o ring and male connector.

The 19J turned up when I was looking for a replacement engine a year or so back and thought it would do the job without too many complications, although the oil cooler problem has reared its ugly head!. As you say pipes for a 19J rad will fit a 19J engine but told by Paddock that it depends on...

Hi All, long term rebuild of my early 90 and fitting a 19J turbo engine. Need a new rad and Paddock have a NTC6168 to fit a 19J but will not advise on "conversions" so will not recommend pipes. Do have some that have the wrong fittings to the engine, they need to be female. Anyone out there done...

Hi, I run 16" Disco alloys on my Defender, but not having a matching spare I have a 15" with higher profile tyre that has the same overall circumference as the 16". Take a piece of string and measure around middle of tread on both wheels. if they are the same there should be no problem. Regards...

Had a problem similar to yours on a Montego TD. What was happening was diesel was getting into the sump, I think via lft pump and raising level of oil. When it got to a certain level it was just sucked up into the inlet. Quite spectacular! Keep checking oil level to see if its going up instead...
