    Hawkeye software in 2023

I suspected as much, would have been nice of Bearmach to make the software available to everybody since those devices aren't cheap and the software is already on the devices just needs unlocking by code! oh well:rolleyes:

    Hawkeye software in 2023

I have a bad feeling that all support for the hawkeyes went down the ****ter with bearmach :( Still there might be a market for hawkeye trading? o_O

    Hawkeye software in 2023

I'm in possession of a Hawkeye diagnostic tool with tdci software installed, i'm helping a friend fix his td5 disco and the aid diagnostic tool would be extremely useful. Is it still possible to purchase hawkeye codes in 2023? or did that all go down with bearmach:(? Cheers.

    Windscreen wiper repair

Well, driving home in the heavy snow and one of my wipers stopped wiping  got home and took the top dash off revealed this to be the problem. Thankfully a pushrod is a similar enough diameter to push in with a weld on the back for good luck. The engine is a 200tdi so I think it will...

    Water to oil ratio

Drained a gearbox today and this mixture came out. Looks to me like 90% water 5% oil and 5% metal fragments, not sure but I think the water is added for cooling reasons. What oil to water ratio do you guys use in your gearbox as i'm worried this mixture is a bit water heavy and I couldn't find...

This is true, most insurers seem to frown upon DIY mechanics messing around with the braking system, strangely enough I cant think why? Anyway I was just thinking of the easier option, might well work out cheaper to fix the system.

Thanks for clearing that up. Yeh so It's not an issue as long as the whole system is removed and replaced with a safe alternative. :)

shouldn't think he'd mind if I just remove all trace of it and put in a brake bias valve, can't imagine it will be a MOT failure as long as the brakes are in good order and don't leak fluid.

Ah I thought I felt the abs working on the short run up the driveway, maybe that was just the wheel bearings shaking ;) I reckon it'll be easiest removing abs system only good for lighting up the dash anyway.

Why on earth would ABS need an ecu and also presumably it isn't necessary for it to function?

I couldn't say for sure, it's entirley possible it was air suspension out of the factory. The vehicle has had a replacement chassis and who knows what else dione to it in the past.
