hi all,
just put s/s braided hoses on my 90, they make a massive difference to the braking.

check the piston pots, they mite be rusty and jamming on. has the brake fluid been changed? there could be crap in pipes.:)

Tryed that pal, went the other week and they said i could have one for a day. They said that they had a lot of people asking about defender renting and they could'nt tell my way they would'nt do it.

the only thing ive done to my 90 is put m/t tyres on, the rest is standard. A friend of mine has a 90 with 2" lift kit and diff-lockers front and back. I can follow him every where.

Does anyone know where i can rent a defender for a week or two, i live in rossendale lancs? a new one would be nice it would be used for a wedding car.:car:

what is full lock judder as said above? when i'm at a pay & play day going round the course which gear should i be in high diff-lock?

i use diff-lock when im stuck, its after when ive driven away from it (the sticky bit) it starts clonking when i come to a stop. i think it mite be me should i put it back into low box straight after?
it's my first 4x4.

it's not prop shafts uj's, put heavy duty ones in about 2 mounths ago, front and back. but thanks for that.

1988 90 with a 200tdi, it says 91000 on the clock. i have no history on it because i got it from a action it mite have 200,000 +, but don'nt care because it still drives like a new one.

Can anyone help me its my first defender,
When i'm off-roading i use low box, until i get to a difficult bit then i use diff-lock. But when using it a bit it starts clonking from what sounds like the axles, is it transmission wind-up?. Whats the best thing to do or is it a landy problem...

when i put in gear it does rotate a bit, the output shaft does'nt wobble. thanks pal just wanted to make sure this was normal.:)

Make sure the brake shoes are adjusted properly, because if the shoes are not pushing against the drum there will be no presure.

hi,
i'm new to this, but i think i have a problem with my lt77 gearbox, when i was changing the handbrake shoes there was a lot of play in the box. is this normal or is it on its way out?:confused:
