I'm fitting a new 9" clutch to my S2A, along with a new spigot bush.
Can I use this as an alignment tool?

Right, I've got the head off. It had a composite head gasket on which was still complete when I peeled it off the underside of the head.. it's been on a while but it's not blown.
I need to clean things up for a proper look at the valves and to measure the bores. I don't know what I will do yet...

So it seems the compression and head gasket are both reasonable. Maybe the rocker breather was just blocked after all.. unless there are other...

I've just took my 2A up to Gaydon for the weekend. It was a 2hr 45m run up to the show and it seemed to run as well as usual but when I next looked in the engine bay she'd been spitting some oil out the oil filler.

I got the dust caps off with some degreaser heat and gloves for grip. Cheers.
Seems it's not worth replacing the gaitor. The one on the front prop is starting to go but it's not actually split yet. Been on there 12 years so far.. probably more life in it than one of the new £3 if this thread is...

I've got both prop shafts off my 2A so I can replace both diff pinion seals. Both props seem good, no UJ wobble and no noticeable spline wear. The gaitor is missing from one and needs replacing on the other.
What's the trick for unscrewing the cap on the short half so I can separate the props...
