    breaking 300 tdi 1998

Hi, I know this is a crappy little thing but i'm passing to go to a wedding in Kelso at the beginning of May. If it has a grey interior, can you keep the boot carpet for me as my dogs chewed mine (i'll just cut it under the back seats and lift the boot bit out if that's o.k with you...

    Has my turbo just failed?

Gents, New lift pump fitted - made no difference and cooling system not pressurising etc so no head gasket symptoms. waste gate actuator sounds plausable. I can physically hear the turbo spinning (albeit subtly) as i have a full stainless exhaust on her from downpipe back so i can actually...

    Has my turbo just failed?

Thanks. Not checked that yet. I can hear the turbo stopping boosting then instantly spooling up again back to full boost. What tells the turbo when to boost or not boost? Thanks

    Has my turbo just failed?

Still got what feels like the turbo dropping the boost on heavy throttle openings..... Can you describe your simptoms a bit more? have fitted new air and fuel filters and new lift pump so i know i can rule them out. If i put it in D and floor it she'll pull strong and clean through 1st up...

    Has my turbo just failed?

Thanks for all the help. As i said, office boy so i have a good understanding of how it all works because i'm interested but very little practical experience! Turns out an intercooler pipe was delaminating and had totally disintegrated causing a bloackage. New pipe fitted and we're back...

    Has my turbo just failed?

Thanks. air box to turbo hose fine. Not sucking flat. I konw that as i looked at that a couple of days ago trying to diagnose the turbo dropping the boost then instantly spooling up normally again. Thought it might have been this hose collapsing for a plit second then releasing again but it...

Hi, 1997 300tdi Auto 110k Sitting at about 50mph today and needed to over-take car in front so floored it and just as i was passing and away to pull back in, lost all power. Engine did not stall just totally lost all power and i ground to a halt pretty quickly. Stopped for a look and...

1997 disco ES electric sunroof (rear) won't close

Hi all, Tosay's drama is with the rear electric sunroof. Changing the oil and filter this afternoon and i nipped round to the shed to get a rag and when i came back, the rear electric sunroof had opened itself. It leaks so i suspect the water got in somewhere. The problem is, now it won't...

    Alarm/Imob issue after flat battery

No idea how long the current battery has been in and on the basis it appears to be struggling to hold a charge, i think i'll replace it nearer the time. Might disconnect it when we park it up for the 2 weeks but i'll do a few trial runs at home first to ensure i'm able to get it all going...

    Alarm/Imob issue after flat battery

No no, sunroofs just sealed up with silicone. Does the trick so i'm happy. Have A/C and 4 windows so plenty air to keep cool with! Guess i've been taken for a ride then with his crap about the roof reciever but all i know is the 4 button press didn't work for me and it didn't work for him...

    Alarm/Imob issue after flat battery

Fixed it. Dipped into the emergency £ fund and £104 later, (£35 call out, £50 labour + VAT) we are fully functional again. In the end, the local Landie specialist reckons i made it worse swapping between the normal key fob and the spare key fob. Confused the system which is why it refused...

    Alarm/Imob issue after flat battery

Ah, That makes sense now - i was taking it too literally. It's as if the key and/or the fob just isn't being recognised by the alarm system. It won't disarm at all. Never did fix the sunroofs and the leak - heavy rain here for 2 days and it's soaked inside (not for the first time). Wonder...
