hi mate it seems not .I can change gear with the engine not running but as soon as I start engine nothing, but after pushing down on clutch a few times only now and then it will go in.

Hi joe I to had the same problem however my freelander is petrol. and were the slave cylinder is I just sprayed mine with wd40/penetration oil and it worked a treet,just see if it works mate , just spray on the push rod on the slave cylinder . hope this helps

help guys . have just changed my master and slave cylinder but now my clutch pedal is to high . the reason I changed it was my clutch pedal was staying down and found out my cylinder/s were not allowing me to change gear as it was not returning up any help. thanks sat nav
