It’s a job I’ve been putting off for four years—stripping the underseal off my chassis. Now that I have access to an outdoor ramp, it’s made the job much easier since I can stand underneath it.
I’ve decided not to strip the entire chassis, as the front is still in great condition with no...

Yes it also has the flanges too as the intention for it was to go on a TD5 110, but that never materialised
So hopefully if it fits speedo works etc am definitely having it for my 300 Tdi 90

I live in East Yorkshire so really dead flat its an LT230 D2 transfer box the whole point is to quieten it down and improve MPG
The Defender transfer box revs incredibly high and its a bit loud, but with it being my daily this is meant to help improve engine revs quite a bit.
Plus £200 for a...

Ah so it should all fit then?

Got the chance to purchase a recon D2 Transfer box with diff lock from a friend at very good mates rates.
just thinking though am I going to run into any kind of issues with the Speedo cable here? From what I understand the Disco is electrical and my Defender is cable or does the port/connector...

I might just temporarily wrap it in aluminium foil tape or something see if the noise still occurs
-
Could it be the exhaust flexi hose section at all there is quite a bit of sooting on that to be honest and the mesh is breaking down
-
Noticed until its not at temperature it doesn’t do it when its at temp the noise happens if this narrows it down?

Its very noticeable in the first video. If you are listening through a mono device that could be why it might not be heard?
The screechy whistling sound starts about 3 seconds in then again at 12 seconds in.
Second video plays fine for me though can anyone else confirm?
-
The first noise you hear on the video started a while ago, maybe back in May or June, but it goes away so quickly I never thought it to be an issue tbh thats more like a wooshing sound, but yesterday that high pitch noise (almost sounds a bit like speaker electrical buzz occurred) Only under...

Does anyone know the pin out what controls the Diff lock light on engine loom in the master socket on bulkhead
Had to swap my engine loom got all the other connectors going all spot on other than the Diff lock light.
We suspect possibly one of the pins are maybe wrong in the new dash bulkhead...

Its the redundant EGR system all the electrical gubbings are still present though so something either failed or overheated in that. The EGR was blanked off but all the control systems are still present.
I am going to strip it out

Good morning
So after the old EGR wire coming off the third point of the alternator fully melted through my old engine loom I have had to order a new one, it still works fine the loom, but I am worried that long term it has compromised the integrity of it
On my model it came with a factory...

Its the same through the entire loom so far

I don’t know what proper burned is, but hopefully this photo helps its closer
The smaller wire on the lower terminal has shed its out pvc skin completely through the loom as I have pulled it through. Managed to get it up to the Thermostat elbow atm will continue pulling it through if i can.
It...
